Congratulations to SHS 2nd Years Shuma Takagi and Luca Yoshida for passing the Hokkaido English Challenge!

In March, the two students did an English-speaking proficiency test. Both students have passed the test and are now eligible to attend an English Camp during summer vacation. Takagi ranked 3rd place overall.

HEC was founded in 1994 by participants of the JET Program to provide an opportunity for junior high and high school students in Hokkaido to improve their oral communication skills in English, and to further increase their self-confidence through this experience. HEC is supported by the Hokkaido Chapter of HAJET (Hokkaido Association for Japan Exchange and Teaching) and the Hokkaido Government.

北海道イングリッシュチャレンジ

髙木秀真 君と吉田ルカ 君、北海道イングリッシュチャレンジ（HEC – Hokkaido English Challenge）合格おめでとう！

今年3月、高校2年生の2人は20分間の英語能力スピーキング試験を受けました。2人とも合格し、夏休みのイングリッシュキャンプに参加できることになりました。髙木君は総合3位でした。

HECは北海道の中高生の英会話力向上のきっかけとなるよう、1994年JETプログラムの参加者によって設立されました。HECに参加するだけで英語でのオーラルコミュニケーションのスキルアップにつながり、さらにこの経験を通して、生徒は自分への自信を深められると期待できます。

HECは語学指導等を行う外国青年招致事業（JETプログラム）の自主サポート団体であるJET参加者協会の北海道支部（HAJET – Hokkaido Association for Japan Exchange and Teaching 北海道外国青年招致事業参加者の会）と北海道の支援を受けています。
