Tea Ceremony Club - Culture Week
During Culture Week, the Tea Ceremony Club opened it's doors to non-members to experience an Omotesenke-style tea ceremony.
Guests were able to observe the artistic performance, as well enjoy "omogashi" confectionary and traditional matcha tea.
On Tuesday, Riku Iwakawa (2-C) performed for the retiring senior members. On Thursday, Yasufumi Takezaki (3-2) performed for 3 guests.
On Friday, Toru Osumi (2-D) performed for 2 guests.
It was a great opportunity for the students to experience Japanese tradition in their own school, as well for the performing students to debut their skills in the art of tea ceremony.
茶道部は文化週間中に表千家流の体験会を開催しました。
茶道の経験のない生徒たちも表千家の作法を教わりながらお茶と抹茶を楽しむことができました。
火曜日は2年C組 岩川琉空君が部を離れる高３生のためにお点前を披露。
木曜日は3年2組 竹崎泰史君が3名の体験希望者を前にお点前を披露しました。
最終日の金曜日は2年D組 大隅透君が体験希望者2名を前に披露しました。
校内で日本の伝統に触れる機会を提供してくれた茶道部に感謝します。
