9月30日(土)に第61回函館地区高等学校英語弁論大会が函館西高等学校で開催されました。
1年C組 渡部馨仁が参加し、"Danger of Ambition"「野心の危険」と題して汎用人工知能による人類滅亡のリスクに関するスピーチを、堂々と発表しました。
渡部君は2位に入賞し、今月末に札幌で開催される全道高等学校英語弁論大会への出場権を獲得しました。

61st Hakodate High School English Speech Contest
The 61st Hakodate High School English Speech Contest was held on Saturday, September 30th at Hakodate Nishi High School.
Yoshito Watanabe of Class 1C participated and proudly delivered a speech entitled "Danger of Ambition" about feelings of existential risk due to artificial intelligence.
Watanabe came in 2nd place, qualifying him to participate in the All-Hokkaido High School English Speech Contest to be held in Sapporo at the end of this month. We wish him all the best!
